“Transcontinental”, Sept 6-27, 2013

Last year, my husband and I walked from Delaware to California with our dogs.  3, 088 miles in eight and a half months.  We walked to promote pet therapy and animal rescue.

We also walked for art – living life as a work of art.  Living for the things that we truly believe in.

On Friday, September 6th, we honor our pilgrimage for service and art with the opening of our exhibition, “Transcontinental” at Art from the Heart Gallery in Louisville, Kentucky.

Pause for Art

Hello all.  For the next year, there will be no updates on this website.  I will be walking across the Unites States with my husband John and our dogs to raise awareness of pet therapy and animal rescue.

Being an artist is not a job or a hobby – it is a life’s practice.  Dear fellow artists, never stop seeking, wondering, exploring, asking questions, challenging yourself, scaring yourself.  And never stop making.  These are the experiences worth making art about.  I see walking across the country as art practice.

Wish us luck and stand by for images of art-ifacts from the road.

Photos and stories are already available at our Dog Walk Across America blog, www.DogBlogUSA.com

the Art of Kait Whistler Seyal

Kait’s art is informed by a strong background in animal behavior and psychology, applied to both animals and humans.  Her aesthetic has a realist appeal with a surrealist edge and an academic sensibility.

Commission services and prints are available.

Kait also specializes in portraits of people and pets.  Please see the Animal Gallery and Figure Gallery for examples of her work and the Portraits and Commissions page for details.
